6 Eddie Bauer’s Highchair Dupes and Lookalikes

Around 2010, Eddie Bauer had a widely available (think Target, Babies R Us, Costco) baby furniture line that included cribs, strollers, car seats and high chairs. In the years that followed, the Eddie Bauer high chair from both their Newport Collection and Evergreen Collection became extremely popular thanks in part to its classically preppy style.

Here’s what it looked like:

The Newport chair was made of cherry wood and featured a wainscotting-inspired pattern and curved headrest that was particularly popular.

Another highly compelling aspect of the chair? Its built-in storage area underneath the baby seat was the perfect spot to store anything from cups and plates to bibs and wipe-up cloths – and it could fit a surprisingly copious amount. Also no surprise for a wooden high chair, it was incredibly durable, so parents could use it for multiple children and even pass it along to friends after their babies outgrow it.

However, the chair is no longer manufactured and has been sold out everywhere for years, as the brand has moved away from making furniture and high chairs, and focuses on diaper bags and bed linens, leaving many people wishing they could find the oh-so-popular seat once again.

We know just how important it is to find the perfect baby accouterments from diaper bags that look chic to cribs that fit the aesthetic of your home, so we set our online shopping and research skills to max, and went on the hunt.

The bad news is the style of the beloved Eddie Bauer high chair simply isn’t trending right now, with a much more minimalistic look reigning supreme, so there are not a lot of options that have the same look. And with sleek and low profile designs at the forefront of high chair design, that means the genius built-in storage compartment is a thing of the past.

Fortunately we did find six chairs that should satisfy that classic wooden high chair itch since the original ‘must-have’ just isn’t an option.
