Spring Cleaning and Organization
While your mother would argue that it’s always been hip to have an organized home with dedicated storage spaces, the rest of the world is just now catching up on the joys of home organization. It’s probably safe to say that the current trend of keeping tidy spaces through chic home organization and storage options was sparked when the world was forced to stay home for months. Best Home Organization and Storage Deals
Brightroom 4-Piece Fridge Storage Set – $25
Brightroom is latest addition to Target’s home section. Brightroom offers clean lines and trendy materials to a variety of storage and organization options, giving you creative freedom to organize your home as you see fit. The best part is that Brightroom is affordable and durable, so you won’t have to invest an arm and a leg to declutter your chaos. Currently one of the biggest home trends is fridge and pantry storage like this set of four fridge organizing bins. The clear heavy-duty acrylic allows you to quickly see what you have (and don’t have) while being easy to wipe clean (because we all know that bag of salad isn’t going anywhere any time soon).
The Home Edit 5-Piece Plastic Modular Set – $24.98
Few know how to organize better than the stars behind popular Netflix series “The Home Edit,” Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin. Lucky for you, you can now do your own home edit thanks to the new collection at Walmart. The Home Edit is a great one-stop-shop for organizing basics like this five-piece modular storage set. While it’s listed as laundry organization, these bins and turntable are versatile and can be used in just about every room in your home. The larger bins are convenient with an open front, while the smaller narrow bins are easily stackable. My favorite piece has to be the turntable, which I personally own and use in my kitchen and bathroom.
Mainstays 20-Piece Clear Stackable Closet Storage Bins – $29.98
I have to give my mom credit for this closet organization tip because she first introduced me to this method about 15 years ago when she did a little closet renovation of her own. While there are other shoe storage solutions, it’s can be hard to find a way to neatly keep nice shoes like heels and sandals put away while remaining easy to reach (and aesthetically pleasing). These plastic storage bins are the solution. The 5-quart bin is clear for easy identification and its lid keeps shoes safe and secure while also allowing the bins to stack on top of each other. Personally, I use these bins on the top shelf of my closet where few things fit, given its narrow space, and they look much better than my previous random mix of old shoeboxes.
Better Homes & Gardens 4-Shelf Hanging Closet Organizer with Hanging Rack – $19.72
Speaking from experience, it takes a bit of creativity when it comes to sharing a closet with someone. When my partner and I moved into our new place, I took the side of the closet without a lower hanging rack so that I could hang my dresses. This was great until it was time to bust out my sweaters and other heavier items for cold weather. Our space is not large enough for multiple dressers (nor could I remove what was already in drawers) but alas I found the answer to my closet woes when I stumbled upon this hanging shelf–complete with bottom hanging rack. This organizer has now become a permanent staple in my closet. Without losing room to hang my shorter dresses, I now have a dedicated space for sweaters and other bulky items I choose not to hang. The four-shelf organizer is easy to put together and surprisingly sturdy.
Better Homes & Gardens Large Rattan Open Weave Basket – $24.98
If you haven’t added a storage basket to your home’s organization arsenal, now is the time to do so. Decorative baskets can not only add texture and a natural element to a space but also serve as storage for blankets, home workout equipment like yoga mats, throw pillows and more. Unfortunately, finding decorative baskets that are both durable and affordable can be hard. While I love the look of many natural woven baskets that you can find at stores like TJ Maxx and HomeGoods, I don’t love my cats using them as scratching posts. This natural poly rattan basket is perfect for solving both storage and cat-lady organization problems. The same basket is also available in a smaller size two-pack for the same price!
Brightroom Triple Opening Sliding Bin Cube Storage – $100
Cube storage units have been around for a long time–but without any upgrades. While you might think, “how can you add bells and whistles to something with such a rudimentary design?”-think again because Brightroom has done just that. The triple-opening sliding bin cube storage maximizes storage capacity by eliminating a basic 12×12 cube shelf design, allowing you to store more, larger items in bottom bins while top bins neatly carry smaller items. The sliding system makes it easy to pull out items–plus you won’t have to spend a fortune on 6+ decorative storage bins. This cube storage system is great for large families and can easily sort arts and crafts supplies, sports equipment and more.
Brightroom 30-Pack Flocked Suit Hangers – $18
I’m not sure if I have my OCD or insane amount of HGTV shows consumed to thank for this closet organization tip but either way, I’m never looking back. One thing neat and organized closets have in common is matching hangers. It sounds silly but they make a noticeable difference. While it was a process, I switched out old mismatched plastic hangers and threw away any leftover dry cleaning wire hangers for a black flocked set. Not only are the flocked hangers more gentle on my clothes than wire ones, but they save space with their slim design while giving my closet a cohesive look (even when it’s a mess).
YouCopia StoraLid Container Lid Organizer – $12.99
They say we all have more in common than we think–and by the looks of my current solution for Tupperware “storage,” I’d have to agree. Just like that one closet we’re terrified to open, we, collectively, as a society, have zero idea what we’re doing when it comes to keeping the Tupperware cabinet organized–until now. The YouCopia StoraLid has (understandably) had its share of social media praises for its convenient design. Now, finally, the search for a correct and matching Tupperware lid is over. The adjustable lid container can be resized to hold even the smallest lids while remaining compact enough to fit in cabinets or deep drawers. It’s also not lost on me that this genius idea is by none other than a women-owned business, just sayin’.
