However, if you’re a pet lover, it’s quite likely you keep a steady supply of food and other pet items on hand. Whether you’re familiar with Chewy, let us explain how to keep your pet happy, save money and stop the endless drives back and forth to the store.

How Do I Get a Chewy Autoship Discount?

Scaredy cats of commitment need not worry. To receive the Chewy Autoship discount, you don’t have to commit to a set time, pay a fee or start a membership. Signing up is almost as simple as placing just one order. But instead, you’ll score 35% savings on your first order.  Instead of placing a regular order, follow these simple steps:

  • Set up an account with Chewy first.
  • Click on the banner, button or tab for Chewy Autoship.
  • Select your items from over 2,000 brands of everything pet related. 
  • Add each item to your cart that you will want to be delivered in the future with some frequency.
  • Proceed to the checkout and select the “Yes, make my life easy” button.
  • Select your frequency — from one week to eight weeks.
  • Fill in your payment and shipping details, then click “place order.”

How Much Can I Save with Chewy Autoship?

You’ll get two perks when you get on board for the Chewy Autoship discount. First, you’ll get a huge discount on the first order. The Chewy Autoship discount for the first order right now is 35%, but we’ve seen it ring in at 30% at other times of the year. Either way, the maximum savings is capped at $20. What stays consistent, however, is the Chewy Autoship discount on all future reorders — that remains 5% always. 


Are There Other Benefits to the Chewy Autoship Program?

Besides the Chewy Autoship discount, Chewy offers a truly unique and valuable service to its Chewy Autoship customers. Access to veterinarians via phone or video is available for free between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. ET.  This service, called  Connect with a Vet, gives Chewy Autoship members unlimited access to licensed vets who can answer questions related to their pets. 


What if I Want to Change or Delay My Chewy Autoship Order?

Let’s say you signed up to have Fluffy’s food delivered every four weeks, but you’re taking Fluffy to spend a month with Grandma who’s loaded up with food. Then follow these steps:

  • Make your way to the Manage Autoship dropdown tab under “My Account” at the very top of the page, to the right. 
  • On the My Account page, select the “Autoship” tab. It’s between “orders” and “my pets” at the top.
  • Click it and you’ll see your Chewy Autoship orders. 
  • Click on the one for Fluffy’s food and select “skip shipment.” 

You can do a lot more on this page to customize your Chewy Autoship orders. Need that food now? Just click the “order now” button. You can also change the frequency and date you want your order delivered. The Chewy Autoship order changes must be made 48 hours before the next scheduled order, but otherwise, it’s super flexible. This is a favorite perk of ours and one of the reasons we love Chewy’s Autoship program.


How to Cancel Autoship on Chewy

As easy as it is to change a Chewy Autoship, it’s just as easy to cancel it. Chewy truly wants its customers to be happy, not locked into a maze that makes it difficult to cancel. In fact, on Chewy’s FAQ page, the second answer is to the question: How to cancel an Autoship on Chewy?

And on Chewy’s “How to Cancel Autoship on Chewy” FAQ page, they give easy instructions for doing just that. Basically, if your order has not yet shipped, cancel it by going to Your Account, and then Orders. Choose “cancel this order.” It is that simple. But let’s say your order was already in the processing stage. Send a message to the folks at Chewy, and they’ll try to cancel it for you. If that doesn’t work, they will issue you a refund. 


Is Shipping Free With Chewy Autoship?

It can be. If your order is over $49, it will ship for free. All other orders — from Fluffy’s Halloween costume to Bruiser’s Purina Pro Plan 50-pound bag of dry dog food — ship for a flat rate of $4.95.


How Long Does It Take to Receive a Chewy Autoship Delivery?

Pet lovers, including us, have received most food and supply orders between one and three days after placing the order. We haven’t needed prescription medicine, but if we did and it required approval, it would take longer for that shipment to arrive, according to the Chewy website. 


What if I Need to Return Something From a Chewy Autoship Order?

Whether your order was a Chewy Autoship order or regular order, the Chewy 100% satisfaction, 365-day, hassle-free return policy applies. Chewy understands that life happens.

Cats can suddenly become pickier. Dogs can destroy perfectly good stainless steel food bowls. And sometimes, orders go missing, get damaged during transit, or just aren’t as expected.
